You lie in wait curled up in your bamboo prison
Awakened by rays of the golden dawn.
Enthralled by the music you can’t resist the show
And rise to the occasion, swaying to the melodies.

With incredible agility you cautiously slither
Charming and disarming your prey.
Venomous words carefully chosen
To evade, deceive and distract.

A façade of grace is impeccably maintained
Placing you beyond reproach
As you hide behind words that cross your forked tongue
Withholding those that could puncture your thin veil.

Ironic, the disdain you hold for the creature you are.
Pathetic, your inability to see the likeness.
